At the age of 10, DD found a passion for writing when she began writing “miniature books” for her father. As she progressed in school, others found that she was gifted in writing, which led to her receiving numerous awards and recognition. In high school, she discovered a passion for poetry, resulting in her poem “It Came Upon Me” being published when she was 15. At age 16, her writing skills won her the first of its kind scholarship/ internship opportunity at Baltimore’s top-rated television station, WJZ-TV Channel 13. Since then, Ms. Jewell has used her gift in the professional sector while working in Broadcasting, Government, and Nonprofit industries.
A graduate of the University of Virginia, DD Jewell is a screenplay writer and author of an inspirational fiction series called Shattered that centers around the lives of four twenty-somethings. In addition to novels, Ms. Jewell writes screenplays. DD lives in Atlanta metro with her husband and children.
